A Dimension 11 Ltd. Monthly Online Newsletter

FOR
BUSINESS

It's a culture! Every organization presents a visual attitude that says, "Yes, we are here to help you," or the opposite. How is this attitude projected? Mainly through the people we hire!

So many corporate leaders demand we help them hire "educated" personnel, which usually means someone with at least one degree. Instead of this, let's look at the KNOWLEDGE WORKER, the person who shows he or she is anxious to assist clients, both internal ones and external ones.

Self-made people can lead their companies to great success. We all know of Bill Gates, university drop out and now the richest man in the world. Or, Dimension 11's own John Knight, whose team at Coca Cola received the award for a 62.9% market share (one of only three centres to do this in North America). Great things can be accomplished and the teams do it - because leaders hire people who are excited about life, their work and their customers.

Hire right and you'll be open for business.

BEATING STRESS

Death! It's not something we like to spend a lot of time thinking about. Today, medical science has discovered our tendency toward major illness can be directly linked to the amount of stress we experience and, more importantly, how we handle it. When stress is extreme, it can even lead to death in later years. Fortunately, we all have the ability to cope with stress.

The best way to handle stress is to look after ourselves.

Consider incorporating some of these into everyday life:

  • Make fun and laughter an integral part of every day
  • Get enough sleep
  • Sleep with the window slightly open to get fresh air
  • Drink 8 glasses of water a day
  • Eat balanced meals
  • Take 10 deep breaths when stress is building up
