Making Trade Shows Work for You
 ecently
Dimension 11 Ltd. put up a booth at Blueprint for the Future,
an Aboriginal youth career fair in Saskatoon. Approximately 1100
young aboriginals attended, looking for information on securing
a job.
It was interesting to examine the other booths
set up and discover what made for the more effective display of
information and the most help to the youth. What we discovered
might be of assistance to you as you prepare for your next trade
show.
Consider the following:
- Ensure information
displayed in the booth reflects the needs of the audience, not
your own needs.
- Get rid of the chairs
- if you sit, people will not want to "bother" you
and will walk right on by.
- Smile and stand right
in the aisle so you can communicate with those who pass by.

To Combat Stress, Take Care of Your Health
tress
is a fact of life. We can't prevent it entirely, but we can manage
how we cope with it. Stress can wear us down, but being healthy
gives us more resources to fight it.
Look at these areas to become healthier and
better able to cope with stress:
Exercise: As little as three 30-minute
brisk walks each week will reverse your physiological age by 10
years. Not bad! Weightlifting is also an excellent exercise to
take up; even just twice a week will have a tremendous effect
on your body and your stress coping mechanisms.
Proper nutrition: It's sometimes hard
to eat nutritionally sound meals, but the efforts made to prepare
and eat good food are profound. Check out the Canada Food Guide
to see what is recommended. Taking a multivitamin with minerals
is also important. Drink water, six to eight glasses a day, to
properly hydrate your body and your brain. You will function better.
Sleep: Not too little, not too much.
Seven to eight hours is just right for most of us. Being well
rested helps us feel and cope better with life.
Taking care of your health will benefit you
in so many ways; helping you to combat stress is one of them.
